Very much a ruin today, but being there and seeing the size of the structure, the giant stones that it is made of, and the location high in the hills sparks a feeling of minor wonder. I have yet to travel to see the Egyptian pyramids, but I get a sense of the awe that must sweep over you. How did they do it? Must have taken armies of slaves. Why is that for nearly four years I lived just kilometers away from this great ruin and never bothered really to see and explore it, but I return 25 years later on a visit from thousands of kilometers away and finally take an interest?
